a brief history of homemade goodness
In 1997, Sweet Leaf Tea founder, Clayton Christopher, decided to make a bottled tea that was just as tasty as the one his grandmother Mimi used to make.
When Sweet Leaf Tea first got off the ground, we used pillowcases as tea bags and garden hoses to fill the bottles. (We even applied the labels by hand.)
Every bottle of homemade goodness still starts with Granny's original recipe - the perfect balance of organic tea leaves and ingredients we can pronounce. In 2004, we put a spin on our classic sweet tea with fun new flavors like Mint & Honey.
What better way to share the love (and the wisdom) of Granny than to put her sweet sayings (what we lovingly call Grannyisms) right under our bottle caps.
We tea'med up with Nestlé Waters North America to spread Granny's love of homemade goodness far and wide.
We're inspiring tea lovers across the nation to spread the goodness inside every bottle by sharing sweet acts with their friends, neighbors and cities.
